Michael Bublé

Michael Bublé is a Canadian singer-songwriter who knew from a very young age that he wanted to be a singer. His first singing gigs were at nightclubs when he was sixteen, and his grandfather paid for him to take singing lessons from famous opera baritone Joseph Shore. He was greatly influenced by his grandfather’s love of jazz, which is reflected in his musical style. Surprisingly, he never learned how to read or write music, and instead, only used his passion and emotion as a tool to write his music. A job as a wedding singer connected him to Grammy-winning producer David Foster, who ultimately got the young artist’s dreams off the ground.

Released in February 2003, his debut, self-titled album went to the top ten in Canada, South Africa, and the United Kingdom, and was number one in Australia. His second album, It’s Time, was released two years later in February of 2005. The album included covers of classic songs like Save the Last Dance for Me and Can’t Buy Me Love, in addition to songs he co-wrote himself. The album reached number on in Canada, Japan, and Italy, and was in the top ten in Australia, Austria, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the United States. His next album, Call Me Irresponsible, was released in 2007 and was a Double Platinum album in Europe. His fourth album, Crazy Love, came out in 2009 and was number one Australia, Canada, and the United States. In 2011, he released a holiday album called Christmas that quickly rose to the top of the Canadian and United States charts. On April 15, 2013, Michael Bublé released his sixth album, To Be Loved. The album was his fourth consecutive number-one album on the Billboard 200 chart after it debuted at number one.

He has won almost twenty-five awards over his career. Eleven of those were Juno Awards, which he won for Best New Artist (2004), Pop Album of the Year (2006, 2010), Single of the Year (2006, 2010), Album of the Year (2006, 2010, 2012), Artist of the Year (2006), and the Juno Fan Choice Award (2008, 2010). In addition he has won three Grammy Awards: Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album in 2008, 2010, and 2011. He was also the winner of the American Music Awards Favorite Adult Contemporary Artist in 2010. Other awards he has won include the World Music Awards’ World’s Best Selling Artist in Canada (2005), ECHO Jazz Production of the Year (2006), and the Canadian Smooth Jazz Awards’ Best Male Vocalist (2008).

In January 2014, Bublé takes off on a World Tour. First, he will do the European leg of his tour, visiting countries like Paris, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, and many more. The European tour ends in March, and in April, he heads off on his month-long Australian tour, visiting such cities as Melbourne and Sidney. After that, he plays another month’s worth of show in his native Canada, ending his tour on July 8, 2014 in New York City at Madison Square Garden.
