With influences like Little Richard, Elvis Presley, and James Brown its no surprise that Seger has become one of the great rock and roll artists of the last few decades. Born and raised in Dearborn and Ann Arbor, Michigan, Seger became a successful musician in the Detroit area after finishing school. First recording as The Bob Seger System throughout the 1960’s, he finally dropped the “System” from his recordings and continued to seek other groups to play with to achieve national success. He played with the Silver Bullet Band in 1973, with which he became the most successful. He achieved national fame with his records Live Bullet and Night Moves. Seger is a rocker with a raspy quality to his voice which was perfectly suited for his blue-collar themes. Classic Seger hits include “Night Moves”, “Turn the Page”, and “Like a Rock”. He also co-wrote the Eagle number one hit “Heartache Tonight”. And of course his most iconic song, “Old Time Rock and Roll” has been named one of the Songs of the Century and is ranked #2 in most played Jukebox Singles of all Time. This rocker was, of course, inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004. After releasing an album with some re-recordings of old songs and previously unreleased material, Seger is seting out to tour again!
