The band would form in the year, 1995, and started a career on the continent of Europe in the year, 1996 with J.C. Chasez and Timberlake both serving as the band's lead singers. In the year, 1998, the group would rise to fame in the country of the United States when they released their debut album, which ended up selling a total of 11 million copies and included many hit singles. Their second album, which was released in the year, 2000 - No Strings Attached, would go on to sell a total of 2.4 million copies in its first week. Their third album would also be well received.
Entitled Celebrity, the band went on a tour that ceased in the year, 2002, when the group took a hiatus. During its lifetime, the band was internationally well-known performing at events such as the Olympics, Super Bowl as well as Academy Awards. It would become the 3rd bestselling boy band in music history.
Justin Timberlake Going Solo
In the latter part of the year, 1999, Justin Timberlake would begin his acting career in the movie, Model Behavior, which was a Disney Channel movie. The movie would be released in March of the year, 2000. His stardom would lead to the dissolution of the band as boy bands were declining in popularity. One of the members of the group, Lance Bass, was very critical of Justin's actions in his memoir called Out of Sync. There has been talk of a reunion for some time, but band member J.C. Chasez noted that it probably would not happen when asked about it both in 2011 and in the year, 2012.
In the year, 2002, August specifically Justin would perform at the MTV Video Music Awards. He performed his solo debut single, "Like I Love You." The song would score big on the Billboard Hot 100 chart peaking at #11. Justin Timberlake would release his debut solo album, entitled Justified in November of the same year. The album would debut at #2 on the Billboard 2000 chart. It would begin with sales of 439,000 copies during its first week, but would end up selling a total of 3 million within US and over 7 million globally. There were R&B influences that aided his songs such as hip hop producers, Timbaland as well as The Neptunes. The album would give way to many top 10 singles including "Cry Me A River" as well as "Rock Your Body." In the year, 2003, during the summer, Justin Timberlake and artist, Christina Aguilera embarked on what was known as the Justified/Stripped Tour.
Many Justin Timberlake tickets and Christina Aguilera ones were sold. In the latter part of the year, Justin would record a song that would be used by McDonald's called "I'm Lovin It." It was a part of their I'm Lovin It campaign. The deal between McDonald's and Justin would earn him approximately $6 million. In February of the year, 2004 at a halftime show for Super Bowl XXXVII, Justin performed with singer, Janet Jackson. At the close of the performance, Justin Timberlake ripped off a part of Janet's leather costume that was meant to accompany the lyrics of the song. The event was shown on CBS to more than 140 million audience viewers. When asked about the reveal, Jackson as well as Timberlake confirmed that it was planned without informing anyone. The reveal would be a part of Jackson's breast briefly being exposed. Timberlake subsequently would apologize for the particular incident, known as a wardrobe malfunction. Acting and FutureSex/LoveSounds
Following the controversy of the wardrobe malfunction in the year, 2004, Timberlake would put his artist career on hold in order to act. He would star in a few films including 2004's Edison Force which was a direct to video release; Alpha Dog, and was the voice of Prince Artie Pendragon in Shrek the Third, which was released in May of the year, 2007. Justin also appeared as a younger Elton John in the video for Elton's song, "This Train Don't Stop There Anymore." Timberlake at one point considered playing Roger Davis in Rent, the film version; however, the director for the film, Chris Columbus noted that only Broadway members could give Rent a true meaning. Timberlake would go on to record songs with other artists including "Where Is The Love?" by the Black Eyed Peas for their album, Monkey Business. In the year, 2005, Timberlake would develop a throat condition after recording a single with artist/rapper, Snoop Dogg. Nodules would be removed in an operation that happened in May of 2005. In the year, 2005, Justin also began a record company, known as JayTee Records.
His second album, FutureSex/Love Sounds was released to the world in September of 2006. The album that took almost 2 years to create would debut at the number 1 spot on the Billboard chart. It sold a total of 684,000 copies during the first week. It was also considered the largest for iTunes preorders. The album was produced by a plethora of producers including will.i.am., Rick Rubin as well as Justin Timberlake himself and Timberland also.
The lead single off the album, "SexyBack" would be performed by Justin at the 2006 MTV Video Music Awards during the opener. Other singles such as "My Love," 'What Goes Around...Comes Around," and "Until The End of Time" would be released from the album as well. In the month of October of the year, 2006, Justin stated that he wanted to focus his efforts on music rather than acting. In the month of January of 2007, Justin began a FutureSex/LoveShow tour which sold many Justin Timberlake tickets. A fourth single was released as a result, "Summer Love." Fans continued to flock to purchase Justin Timberlake tickets for the tour, which prompted Justin to release another single in United Kingdom, "Love Stoned/I Think She Knows Interlude." In the month of February of the year, 2008, Justin won 2 Grammy Awards. At the 50th Grammy Awards, he would win an award for Male Pop Performance for the song, "What Goes Around...Comes Around."
Timberlake revealed to the world in the year, 2008 that he has both obsessive compulsive disorder and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. He would do collaboration with rapper, T.I. later that year on the song, "Dead and Gone," which would appear on the rapper 6th studio album, entitled Paper Trail. In the month of the November of that same year, Timberlake made an appearance on R&B singer, Ciara's album, Fantasy Ride. Justin also appeared on the song, "Carry Out," which was the third single from Shock Value II, a Timbaland production in December of the year, 2009. In February of 2009, JT as fans often refer to him as, was named "Most Stylish Man in America" by GQ. Timberlake would start working on his third studio album, known as The 20/20 Experience in the month of June of the year, 2012 This marked his return to the music industry after a brief absence. He released the album's lead single, "Suit & Tie" in January 2013. The song featured Jay-Z. Justin Timberlake would appear the night prior to the Super Bowl in 2013 following a four year hiatus. In February of 2013, Justin performed the album's lead single at the 55th Grammy Awards with Jay-Z joining him on stage. The album was released in the month of March on the 19th day. Timberlake stated that there was a second part to the album, The 20/20 Experience: 2 of 2 that is scheduled for release in September of 2013. The lead single entitled "Take Back The Night" was released in July 2013.

In January of 2007, he began dating Jessica Biel, an actress. They separated in March of 2011 and then got back together and married in October of 2012 in Fasano, Italy.
